In this fascinating talk, Naturalist Kim White will show many examples of how science and technology look to nature to solve complex problems.
How did a Kingfisher improve a high speed train? How has a gecko helped astronauts? How have hedgehogs helped reduce the chances of concussions? These examples and many more will be discussed during this presentation by Naturalist Kim White, who will bring along some animal ambassadors.
Kim White has taught at the Brookfield Zoo Education Program for 20 years to help individuals learn about and respect the natural world around them. White is an avid gardener, does a fair amount of quilting, and has about 20 pets, mostly reptiles and amphibians.
This program is intended for adults and teens 15+.
