Do you like to read and discuss books? The Book Club meets monthly on the fourth Mondays at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a book selected by one of the members. This group discusses a wide variety of books. Copies of the monthly book selections are available for checkout at the library. All readers are welcome

55 Alive Driver Safety Program Monday/Tuesday, Oct. 4 and 5 from 9 am to 1 pm

two-day program has been designed by AARP to help drivers over 50 improve their skills. The fee is $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members payable at the first class. Checks preferred. Midewin Cow Watching, Oct 13, 6pm at Fossil Ridge Library
Learn about Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie's past, present and future. Formerly the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, now a national treasure, Midewin is right in your backyard. Follow up this lecture by coming to the Midewin Welcome Center (30239 S. State Route 53, Wilmington) at 10:00am, Oct. 16 to the What's With the Cows program to discover how cattle help restore the prairie. You will learn about the various breeds and do some up close and personal "cow watching."

Midewin's Halloween Bunkers, Oct. 26, 6pm at Fossil Ridge Library Follow up this lecture by coming to the Midewin Welcome Center at 4:30pm, Oct. 30 to Trick-or-Treat Bunker Style! You will be lead to a bunker field, created in 1940, where at each bunker you will be greeted by a character from Midewin's past, present or future, who will share with you a memorable story or lesson (and a treat!).

Uber Cool Gingerbread House Demonstration, Wednesday Dec. 8, 6pm Back by popular demand, Chef
Michael Niksic will show you great building secrets to put together your own masterpiece. Easy to learn ideas,
recipes, sources for supplies, handling instructions, and much more! One lucky patron will receive a
gingerbread house at the end of the festivities. Registration required.

Computer Basics-Mouse and Keyboard Use Oct. 5 at 6pm, Oct. 27 at 10am, Dec. 1 at 3pm. Practice
moving, clicking, scrolling, highlighting, completing forms, copying and pasting text. Registration required.
Email Basics Oct 12 at 6pm, Nov. 3 at 10am, Dec. 9 at 2pm. Set up a free Yahoo email account, practice
sending and receiving emails, and adding and opening attachments. Registration required. Must have basic
mouse and keyboard skills.
Internet Basics Nov. 9 at 1pm, Dec. 15 at 3pm. Search by web addresses and use the web pages found. Use
Yahoo or Google to search the Internet. Registration required. Must have basic mouse and keyboard skills.
Word Processing Nov. 18 at 1pm, Dec. 21 at 6pm. Very basic word processing to create a letter or other
word document. Registration required. Must have basic mouse and keyboard skills.
